Craft: Fireworks
This easy craft that I first came across on Kids Activities blog will be sure to light up your day!
Simple Arts & Crafts: Firework Art
How to:
You will need:
Toilet Paper Rolls
Scissors
Washable Paint (I like cheap acrylic paint from a craft store, like Michael's)
White Paper (cardstock is a great option for this project)
Paper plate
First, grab your scissors and cut 1/8-inch slits vertically in the bottom of your toilet paper rolls and bend them upward to create a firework stamp. Get your paint and squeeze the color(s) of your choice onto the paper plate. Press the stamp into a color of paint and lightly press it onto your white paper to make your firework shape. Add more colors and make your fireworks extra bright!
Skills to work on:
Turn-taking
Take turns completing the steps to this project
e.g., If you have safety scissors, you can take turns cutting the slits into the toilet paper roll
e.g., take turns selecting the paint color to use
2. Following Directions
Give simple directions and have your child follow them in order
e.g., "Get the toilet paper roll and put it on the table"
e.g., "First grab your firework stamp, then press it into the blue paint"
3. Describing
Have your child create a firework according to your description
e.g., "Make a firework that is red, white and blue"
